Portland Rescue Mission: Roll Three

We've had a few folks that lives got a bit complicated to continue with the project.  I am sorry to see them leave.  Jamie remained at the mission but felt that he had too many obligations to continue.  Kelly had a relapse and left the Mission.  We pray for his safety.
Michael did not take any images for the third roll but will keep the camera for next week.  In the end we have fewer images to share with you and here they are...in order by three.

Portland's Homeless: Roll Two Images Shepherd's Door

Here are some of the images from the second roll from the women at the Shepherd's Door.
The workshop has been moving well and everyone is starting to understand the limits of using film over digital!  We must wait to see the images and thus everyone needs to think about what they are taking pictures of.  The world of film is just about lost but for this workshop it is important.  We can't see the image right away and make the decision to delete of keep it.  Everyone is limited to 27 images, the light and the results.
Working with the street homeless on a project such as this does has its risks of people either taking the camera and not coming back or moving on to another city.  I decided to work with the two shelters to reduce the risk of transient behavior so we can do the series of workshops and develop stories.  Unfortunately, nothing is guaranteed and Lauren decided to leave the shelter so she will no longer be participating in the workshop.  We are sorry to see her go.
Here are three from each participant for roll two in this order: (And yes, their real names are Rachel!)
Laura
Rachel B
Rachel L
Rachel S

Roll Two: Portland Rescue Mission Men's Images

Hello All!
Here are some images from Roll Two for the men's group.  Try to see how the image quality has changed and improve.  Kelly only had three images turn out for this roll.  There were some issues with the film in the disposables.  I purchased ASA 400 with 27 images in each roll with flash.  We found that it is almost impossible to shoot the camera inside or at night using the flash.  The distance is only a few feet for the flash.  Unfortunately, we had many images that did not turn out for roll two.
There are three images for each participant in this order:
Michael
Jamie
Jimm
Jonathan
Justin
Kelly

Kelly only had three images, two were the same so for him I only included two images.

Shepherd's Door: Women's First Roll Images

Woopie!  Finally the first roll of images from the women at the Shepherd's Door in Portland has been edited.  Here are three from each participant in order, so count down three for each new person in this order:
Laura
Lauren
Rachel B
Rachel L
Rachel S
Susan
Tara
Teri
Something the backers can do to participate is to follow the images and see if you can see a story develop.  Sometimes what we think is not what the end result will be.
Enjoy!
